Our Mission and Vision
At Visiting Artists, we are committed to nurturing the creative spirit by providing housing, studio spaces, and exhibition venues for member artists across various disciplines—painting, sculpture, photography, and performing arts. Founded in 1975, our roots are deeply embedded in Sonoma County, California, and we have expanded our reach to southern Spain. Our mission extends beyond just providing space; we aim to enrich communities through art and foster connections between artists and the public.

Visiting Artists was established with the vision of creating a network of residences and studio spaces that serve as fertile ground for artistic innovation. Our headquarters is located in the culturally rich town of Healdsburg, California, but our effort is global.
Visiting Artists works with single-family residences, multi-family residences, and properties suitable for artist compounds. We also explore unique spaces like ranches for artists-in-residence programs, industrial and ‘In-Town’ commercial properties that combine housing and art retail potential.
Explore our member artists’ studios and galleries, featuring a curated selection of their work. In addition, we offer art enthusiasts the opportunity to purchase works from member collectors’ private collections.
While Healdsburg, California remains our hometown and primary base of operations, Visiting Artists has programs and long associations in several locations across the United States, Germany, France, and Spain for art and real estate.
